STOC Infection Working Group (STOC Infection)

As part of our ongoing commitment to advancing infectious disease research, STOC Infection Working Group is establised. This international alliance comprises a diverse group of experts spanning microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and atlas projects, all united by a shared dedication to the study of infectious diseases. The collective goal of STOC Infection Working Group is to harness interdisciplinary expertise and cutting-edge spatiotemporal omics technologies to make significant contributions to the understanding, prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases worldwide.

Missions and Goals

Standard Establishment: Establish comprehensive standards for spatiotemporal omics research in infectious diseases, including methodologies for sampling, experiment protocol, documentation, data quality control, and data sharing, to ensure methodological standardization and research reproducibility.

Tool Development: Accelerate the development of high-throughput techniques for simultaneous host-pathogen transcriptome capture and tailored analytical frameworks for infectious disease research, providing robust technical support for elucidating the intricate molecular interactions between host and pathogen.

Reference Dataset Accumulation: Construct high-resolution spatiotemporal atlases for animal models used for infectious diseases to enrich the reference datasets for multi-omics analyses and form a spatiotemporal data repository for the study of disease mechanisms.

Mechanistic Dissection of Major Infectious Diseases: Integrate genomic, single-cell transcriptomic, spatial transcriptomic, and other data to build molecular atlases for major infectious diseases, thereby systematically elucidating the pathogenic mechanisms.

Clinical Application and Translation: Transform cutting-edge discoveries and technological platforms of spatiotemporal omics into diagnostic tools, therapeutic strategies, and preventive measures applicable to clinical practice, thereby enhancing the precision prevention and personalized treatment of infectious diseases.

Research and Funding Collaboration: Forge an international community to address the key challenges in fighting against infectious diseases, and coordinate national and international funding support to catalyze big science projects.

Knowledge Exchange: Cultivate an ecosystem for the robust exchange of scientific knowledge and cutting-edge methodologies, thereby accelerating the translation of research insights into tangible innovations and clinical applications.
